Browncoats rejoice! The Sci-Fi Fantasy Outpost is hosting its ninth annual charity event—Can’t Stop the Serenity – Washington, D.C.—Sat. July 19, at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse! Doors open at 11:00 AM, show starts at 12:00 PM. Cosplay is encouraged!

This year’s event includes:

  • Screenings of Joss Whedon’s “Serenity” (2005) and “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” (2008).
  • TWO costume contests: (1) one for best dressed as any Firefly/Serenity character and (2) one for best dressed as ANY character from ANY Joss Whedon production, including characters from “The Avengers”, “Buffy”, “Angel”, “Dollhouse”, “Dr. Horrible”, and more!
  • A special performance by the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra!
  • Raffles, door prizes, and a silent auction!

Tickets must be purchased through the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse. Everything else—collectibles, apparel, and other shiny merchandise—can be pre-ordered separately at scifioutpost.net/store. (Note: Get your tickets early! The show has sold out each of the last four years.)
