“Made for Moore” Charity Event Auctioning Off Signed Artwork from Drew Struzan to Raise Money for Those Affected by the Moore, Oklahoma Tornado

As a native Oklahoman who attended college a mere 10 miles away from Moore, I was heartbroken by the devastating tornado that ravaged the city this past May.  Tornadoes are a regular occurrence in OK so us Oklahomans sometimes take for granted how dangerous they can be, but I can say without hesitation that the EF-5 that hit was genuinely terrifying and unlike anything I’ve ever seen.  The city of Moore has been in recovery mode over the past few months, and we’ve had friendly faces from all over the country graciously pitch in to help during that time.  Another charity event is getting ready to kick off to aid those in Moore, and it’s of particular interest to movie fans and those who enjoy the work of poster artist Drew Struzan.

Star Wars: A New Hope
Star Wars: Revenge of the Jedi
Back to the Future
Raiders of the Lost Ark

The non-profit event “Made for Moore” will be auctioning off a number of works of art from a variety of artists (including Struzan, found at the links above), and 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity.  Hit the jump for more information.

“Made for Moore” will be hosting an auction on eBay for some really fantastic art pieces, and all of those proceeds benefit the victims of the Moore tornado.  One such artist participating in the event is renowned poster artist Drew Struzan, who is donating some truly incredibly works of his own including those listed above.  The artwork will be on display in Oklahoma City on August 9th at The Society if you’re close enough to take a look, but if not you can still bid on these wonderful items from home.

These Struzan posters—which are also signed by the artist—are incredibly valuable and gorgeous to look at, so it’s really a win-win scenario.  If you’re at all interested in picking anything up, I highly encourage you to do so.  It’s for a great cause and you get something great in return.

Head on over to eBay to peruse the collection.  Most of the Struzan posters still have at least 7 days left, but I expect the auction to be pretty heated.
