First Footage From The Ender’s Game Movie

The world premiere of the first Ender’s Game trailer is set for today and it’s going to take place online, via a Google Hangout.

What’s a Google Hangout? I… I think I know. But I’m not entirely sure what separates it from just some kind of livestream on YouTube. I guess I’ll find out today.

To promote that event, here’s another modern new fangled internet thing – a trailer for a trailer.

I’m the guy who went out to bat for the last Wolverine movie – or at least the director, Gavin Hood‘s work on it. We all know it went disastrously wrong in several respects, but I’ve been left pretty sure they weren’t Hood’s fault.

Bonus: here’s an image of Ben Kingsley as Admiral Mazer Rackham.

Now, the official stuff from Summit:

You can tune in to the live Google+ Hangout at and Fans are invited to submit their questions for a chance to have them answered in the Hangout. Join in the conversation online using #EndersGame.

This seems to be a movie that might be hard to get right. I remember it being so internal and mental. But it’s been a while…

That’s how I recall it too, Amy, but from the little I’ve seen so far the movie looks good.

That and the majority of the cast would be younger than the cast from HP 1.

I finally watched the trailer – super short, doesn’t show enough yet. And the kids look older than I remember – they should have included a playground sequence for contrast perhaps. I think I haven’t read it for a decade, might not own a copy. Guess I should fix that.
