"Sinbad" to Set Sail on Syfy Beginning Friday, April 12

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) — Syfy will hit the Seven Seas on Friday, April 12 with the premiere of “Sinbad.”

The 12-episode series will take over the Friday, 10:00/9:00c slot from fellow U.K. import “Merlin,” which wraps its five-season run the week prior.

Elliot Knight stars in the famed title role, which tracks his sea-bound journey after he is forced to flee from his home town of Basra. The show’s ensemble also includes Dimitri Leonidas, Marama Corlett, Elliot Cowan, Estella Daniels, Junix Inocian, Tuppence Middleton, Orla Brady and Naveen Andrews as Sinbad’s nemesis, Lord Akbari. Guest stars during its run include Dougray Scott, Sophie Okonedo and Timothy Spall.

Danielle Brandon, Sophie Gardiner, Tim Haines, Anne Mensah, Elwen Rowlands and Andrew Woodhead are among the executive producers for Impossible Pictures. …read more
